Just found out from Sol over the weekend that the Citi Dividend Card changed its rewards system as of mid-October.
![]() Old reward system: 5% cash back on supermarket, drugstore, and gas station purchases 1% cash back everywhere else New reward system: 2% cash back on supermarket, drugstore, gas station, convenience store, and utility purchases 1% cash back everywhere else I don't use this card for convenience store or utility purchases, so that change stinks. Also, Citi said they mailed me a notice about this change, but I don't remember getting it. Must've been in fine print or something... Anyone have suggestions for other cash back credit cards to apply for? 5 Comments:
Citi professional cash card... I'm not happy w/ Citi about this. I went ahead and got a American Express True Earnings Costco card. You need to be a member, but you'll receive 3% at all food joints, 2% off all travel and 1% everywhere else. There's no limit either. , atI <3 Costco. I <3 AMEX , at
The Costco AMEX True Earnings card is great but it does require Executive Membership at Costco ($100 annually). But, you'll also get 2% back on most Costco purchases with the Executive membership separately from the AMEX rewards as outlined by Jomo. Surprisingly, there are a lot of food joints that don't take AMEX. But, the 2% back on travel is awesome. You get 2% back on hotel, flight, car rental. If say your honeymoon costs about $4,000 for all those things, you would get back $80. Chase also offers some pretty good cards. I'm grandfathered in with the 5% gas, groceries, drugstore. I don't think they offer that anymore but they have a new freedom card that gives you 3% on all that stuff along with the "freedom" to switch between points and cash. not a cash back card, but the AirTran A+ Visa... free flight when you sign up for the Visa Signature!
