I have a lot of my retirement and discretionary money invested in Fidelity Contrafund (FCNTX).

Contrafund is the most highly recommended mutual fund by Jim Cramer, the host of Mad Money on CNBC.

The fund is closing itself to new investors on April 28, so if you ever want to invest in the fund, you'll have to do it soon.

If I get in before 4/28, does it mean that I can purchase more shares after 4/28? Or must I purchase all my shares by 4/28 and sit on it?

if you get in before 4/28, then you should be able to buy and sell as many more shares as you want after 4/28.

there are probably some rules i don't know about, but the main point is that the fund is only closed to new investors.
