1st Round of NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament
Cal vs North Carolina State
The last time we were in the tournament (3 years ago), we beat NC State on a Richard Midgley 3 point buzzer beater in a 76-74 overtime win. Let's hope we can repeat that result this time around...
Saturday, 7 PM:
World Baseball Classic Semi-final
Korea vs Japan
Ichiro didn't think we'd be able to beat Japan in 30 years. Instead, we've beaten them twice in 2 games. We'll have to do it 3 times in a row if we want to make the WBC Final.
Sunday, Time TBA:
2nd Round of NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament
Cal vs Texas
If we beat NC State, we'd probably play Texas in the 2nd round. Unfortunately, it's gonna be a virtual road game since it'll be in Dallas. But if we could somehow pull off this upset, it would be a small piece of payback for being robbed of a BCS berth a couple years ago.

You know I was bit sad that USA lost to Mexico. I think it would be hard to beat Japan 3 times in a row... we will see though... I will try not to lose faith. Go Korea!

Damn it, the Korean government spoke too soon. They gave out the military exemption too soon. They should've said they're "considering" it throughout the tournament....

i had a bad feeling about korea - winning, what, 7 games in a row? 3 in a row to the same team? too difficult. i think they should go to a best of 3 or something in the semi's and finals.
as for our bears - i have NO faith in ben braun. he puts us in a position to lose EVERY time, particularly big games. either he needs to radically change, or we need a new coach.
