I just signed up for the waiting list for Yahoo! Mail Beta and locked up the lee.tommy Yahoo! mail address.

Yahoo! Mail Beta is similar to Outlook in both appearance and function. I hope I get to use it soon...

Here's the CNET review.

Does it sync to Outlook? I personally like Outlook, but you can't check it from any computer without the application. That's pretty elaborate though. I wonder if it's Flash based like their map. Thus, we consider them cheaters for not using AJAX. Plus it's a little slow. I like Outlook in some ways, but I think I would go for Thunderbird if you could check Hotmail through it. Unfortunately TB doesn't let you sync to webmail servers. So you can't keep your same e-mail address for Yahoo beta?

it doesn't sync to outlook unless you pay for yahoo mail plus, but since it's webmail, you can obviously check it from anywhere that has internet access.

yahoo mail beta uses oddpost, which is an AJAX-based business.

and getting lee.tommy is unrelated to yahoo mail beta. it's just that now i have 2 linked e-mail accounts in case i ever want to use lee.tommy. but both my tommyelee7 and my lee.tommy usernames work with both regular mail and beta mail...

dude... you guys should just get an exchange server account. i pay about $80 a year for it, and it syncs with my cell phone as well (sprint ppc-6700). i can access my email, calendar, contacts from any computer that has internet access. it's so sweet... i can't imagine living without it. here's the place i get my exchange server account: http://www.4smartphone.com/Default.aspx

it was highly recommended from people on www.howardforums.com which is a great forum for anything cellular related including phones, service, and plans. and no, i'm not affiliated with them in anyway.

i don't think i'd wanna snatch up sam.lee or lee.sam... i got the former on gmail, but it gets a crap load of spam.
