On Friday night, I was supposed to meet up with about 8 guys to meet up for a birthday dinner.

As I was looking for parking at the restaurant, Allen called me saying that he locked himself out and that he needed me to come pick him up. So I went home.

For some reason there were a few people at the apartment waiting outside. I thought that was kinda weird, especially because Eun-Sook was there even though she wasn't on the invite. But to be honest, I didn't think much of it.

So then I walked into my apartment, and was greeted by over 30 people!

Talk about shock... I was too overwhelmed to fully comprehend what was going on, and when everyone started singing Happy Birthday, I said something like, "Whoa... this is weird..."

And while my initial reaction of shock might be expected, that feeling didn't go away much throughout the next couple hours.

It was amazing to see so many faces at our apartment, and it was definitely a birthday to remember. Several people worked very hard to plan the night, and while it took me awhile to process everything then, I definitely appreciate everything much more now.

When G1 called later that night, he asked, "Do you even know 30 people in the Bay Area?"

Before Friday, I would've asked that myself. But as I think about it now, I realize how blessed I am to have such great friends.

Let's see if I can remember a few highlights, otherwise Allen will have to fill in some blanks:

- Sarah tried to get us a good deal by working her magic with the ajjeshi at Kukjeh Supermarket
- She also brought over japchae when the party was about over
- This was when Albert arrived, haha
- Christina also made an ice cream cake
- Chris made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies
- Allen, G1, and I spent a few thousand million (a few billion?) on food and decorations
- We sent you a fake evite
- Apparently we all called you a hundred times that day
- I was supposed to distract you awhile, but parking was so bad, I didn't have to do anything
- Those people came late! Thanks to Allen's quick thinking (locking them out), the surprise was saved
- The surprise was also almost ruined when you decided you might go home before going to the restaurant
- You dropped me off in front of the restaurant we were going to eat at, so I had to walk back to my car, haha
- Oh ya, we gave you Office Space, too (watch it a few more times)
- I invited 80 people and Allen and Chongo wanted to beat me up — my bad, haha
- I started deleted people from the evite, and Kenneth tried to access it afterwards and felt dissed, haha

Ok, I'm tired.

Oh ya, and...

- I wanted to take pictures of the event but I had to be at Brothers
- I was looking really hard for someone to take pictures
- Thanks Sammo
- A bunch of other people took pictures too
- Eric got there early (which is really hard coming from South Bay after work into the City on a Friday night) to take pictures too
- Thomas, you're a good roommate; glad you had a night to remember

also, we went bowling afterwards and tommy had his best bowling night ever. And he didn't celebrate at all after every strike or spare....probably worried that celebrating = dislocated shoulder.
